Helping a parent, a relative, or someone you care about move can carry more emotion than the property itself. I start by listening. A manageable plan needs to respect the person moving and be clear about who is responsible for each step.

01

Hear from the person whose life is changing.

Before discussing preparation or a listing, I want to understand what matters to them. Familiar routines, treasured belongings, independence, and proximity to important people may all affect the plan. The conversation should make space for those priorities.

02

Clarify who can decide what.

We identify the property owner, the people they want involved, and any questions about authority that need a qualified legal professional. A family member helping coordinate a move is not automatically the person who can make or sign every decision.

03

Give belongings their own plan.

Sorting possessions can take longer than expected. Separate what is moving, what needs a later decision, and what may require outside help. I can help you identify the kinds of support to consider and keep that work connected with preparation and timing.

04

Keep communication manageable.

Agree on a point of contact, who should receive updates, and which choices need a group conversation. I help make the next step visible so important decisions do not get lost in several different message threads.
